Benjamin Vu O.D.

Dr. Benjamin VuDr. Benjamin Vu was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Xavier University of Louisiana. He then packed his bags and moved to Houston, TX and obtained his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. During his time there he was president of his school’s chapter of the National Optometric Student Association, volunteered his free time working with the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanities Organization, and was nominated by his colleagues and professors into the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Vu completed his clinical rotations at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New Orleans and the HOPE Clinic Community Health Center in Houston. At the VA, he provided complete eye examinations and co-managed care alongside ophthalmologists for the Veterans of our country. At HOPE Clinic, Dr. Vu gave back to his community by performing comprehensive ocular examinations for the uninsured, low-income, and limited English proficiency patients. Dr. Vu also has a special interest in early childhood eye examinations and loves to put smiles on patients of any age.

In his free time, you can find Dr. Vu either at home catching up on all the video games, TV shows, and movies he missed out on while studying for the last four years, or satisfying his sweet tooth at local dessert restaurants in the area, trying to find the perfect spot to bring his loving girlfriend (who’s also an optometrist!) and caring mother to when they’re in town.
